Need piano movers in New Orleans? Steinway Piano Gallery of New Orleans has served the region’s piano community since 1958. Our professional moving crew moves pianos exclusively—not household furniture. Every move is handled by our experienced in-house team with specialized piano-moving equipment and a custom outfitted moving truck. We maintain insurance for the piano moving services we provide.
Call or text 504-733-8863 to discuss your piano move.
A piano is a delicate musical instrument with significant weight, a carefully balanced structure, a sensitive action, and a finish that can be damaged by rough handling. Moving one safely takes piano-specific experience and equipment—not simply the ability to lift and transport large furniture.
General furniture movers may offer to move a piano, but without piano-moving experience, proper protection, and equipment designed for the instrument, a move can put the piano and the surrounding property at risk. Stairs, narrow halls, tight turns, and uneven access make planning especially important. Depending on the nature of the move, a grand piano will need components such as its legs or pedal lyre removed, secured, and reassembled by people familiar with the instrument.
Our piano-only crew plans around the piano and the access at both locations. We use professional moving equipment and a purpose-outfitted truck to help protect the instrument during loading, transport, and delivery. The move is completed by our own team and is insured.
